Supporting Students to progress to Higher Education Event
19/06/2013
To be held on Tuesday 21st October 2008
10.00-3.15pm at the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, Bristol.
Aimhigher
West Area Partnership and the Western Vocational Lifelong Learning
Network (WVLLN) are delighted to publicise the forthcoming FREE one day event. This event will give essential tools and techniques
necessary to support students when they choose to apply for higher
education.
For those of you who are the main point
of contact with students you will often be asked for your professional
advice and guidance on going to higher education: this is your chance
to find out the latest information from people working in higher
education. This will also be the ideal opportunity to meet up with
colleagues and share ideas and experiences.
There will be
professional information advice and guidance from a team of admissions
tutors to help you prepare your students for entry into higher
education. The day is free and lunch is included.
Workshops and presentations will include:
- Demystifying the UCAS application process
- Interviews, portfolios and auditions
- Helping students to write excellent personal statements
- Progression agreements, giving vocational students an equal chance
- References, writing in support of your students
