Stroud College - Skills Modules for the Care Sector
NVQL3-L4 / ITQ3
Skills Modules for the Care Sector
Introduction
This set of seven modules (an introductory module plus six units) has been created to help work-based learners in the Health and Social Care sector, currently at NVQ L3, to make the transition to L4.
Each unit covers a generic set of skills identified as necessary to develop someone to management level.
The units have been mapped against competencies in NVQ Number 3078 in Leadership and Management for Care Services (LMC). They are accompanied by ITQ modules to L3, which would optionally allow learners to obtain this IT qualification in parallel.
The modules are designed to be delivered in an action-learning context, drawing on learners’ own experience, peer support and feedback and employer input. In this sense they are facilitated as much as taught, using existing knowledge to anchor the learning.
The modules will be piloted by Stroud College in Gloucestershire’s Flexible Learning Centre, using funding from the WVLLN Development Fund, 2008-9.
